At Chelsea Young Writers we are committed to maintaining the trust and confidence of our visitors to our web site and subscribers to our newsletter. Here you’ll find information on how we treat data that we collect when someone visits our website, when someone book our courses or services or someone subscribes to our newsletter.

Visitors to our Website

When someone visits www.chelseayoungwriters.co.uk we use a third party service, Google Analytics, to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour. We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site. This information is only processed in a way which does not identify anyone. We do not make, and do not allow Google to make, any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website.

Your information on our system

If you wish to enrol a student with Chelsea Young Writers, we will collect the following personal data:

  1. Parent’s name, email, telephone numbers and home address;
  2. Relationship to the student;
  3. Emergency name and their telephone number;
  4. Name, age, gender, date of birth and school of the student;
  5. Any medical conditions or allergies the student has.

 We may also retain the information that you have provided at the time of submitting a contact form on our website or when subscribing to our newsletter.

How we use the information you have provided

The information we hold is used to process your booking and to provide you with the service you may have requested. We keep details of transactions you carry out through our site and related to your bookings.

If we may have to contact you or the emergency name you have provided we’ll do so by using the contact details you have submitted at the time of registering on our website or later.

 If we correspond with you, we may keep a record of that correspondence including the contact details or other information that you have provided.

 You can change your preference for communicating with Chelsea Young Writers at any point which will be recorded immediately. At any given time, you will be given the opportunity to opt-out of any direct marketing campaigns.

 If you would prefer to have your personal information removed from our database, please email info@chelseayoungwriters.co.uk and we will immediately do so.

Why we collect data on our customers

Collecting data on our customers allows us to provide the services you have requested, and more specifically to:

  1.  Process orders and to send information and updates pertaining to your bookings and the course(s) your child is enrolled in;
  2. Administer our website and provide customer services;

  6. Provide you with information about our products and services from time to time.

Newsletter Sign Up

We use a third party provider, MailChimp, to deliver our newsletter. We gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies to help us monitor and improve our e-newsletter. For more information, please see MailChimp’s privacy notice.

 We take privacy extremely seriously and we don’t share, or trade email lists with other organisations and businesses.

 You can unsubscribe from the Chelsea Young Writers Newsletter at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any of our emails or by emailing us at info@chelseayoungwriters.co.uk.

How your personal data is kept confidential

Your personal data will be held and processed on Chelsea Young Writers’ systems or systems managed by suppliers on behalf of Chelsea Young Writers.

 Your visit to the Chelsea Young Writers website and all data transferred to and from the website is encrypted by using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption. SSL encryption is designed to make the data unreadable by anyone but you and us. Our database system has high security measures in place and all activity on your record is password protected.

Payment and financial information

Online payments made to Chelsea Young Writers are processed securely by PayPal and the information you provide is communicated in an encrypted format between PayPal and your bank or credit card company. Chelsea Young Writers does not directly collect, process or store your financial information.
