Holiday Club: 22–26 July 2019. The Whole Story. Cyborg Civilisation: A Mission Stop the Techno-Plague!– (8–12 Yrs)

£369.00

The year is 2219. Over the past 200 years, human kind’s understanding of technology has continued to accelerate. These days, most humans, including you, are now ‘Cyborgs’: part human, part technology. You can’t imagine life any differently – the tech is simply a part of who you are, and it has some real bonuses! Little do you expect that soon the very existence of Cyborgs like you will be threatened. A techno-plague has developed, which is spreading like a virus between the tech of Cyborgs. With the risk of your essential components short-circuiting, you must stop the plague before it’s too late!

People often picture a cyborg society as distant, unrealistic and over the top – but in fact cyborgs live among us even today! Many people have technology implanted within their bodies for medical reasons: pacemakers and prosthetic limbs are just some examples. Perhaps it is not such a great leap to picture a future in which devices like our phones have become one with our bodies, too. How would your daily life be different as a Cyborg? And what dangers might arise in this potential future? In this sci-fi adventure, it’s up to our young writers to discover the origins behind, and a cure for, the modern plague!
